Geoboard

The geoboard question type assesses geometric reasoning and spatial construction through hands-on interaction. Useful anywhere geometric understanding matters: K-12 math, architecture, engineering, and technical training programs.

Learners construct shapes and demonstrate spatial relationships—the same kind of geometric thinking required in technical drawings, layout work, and design.

How it works

Learners work with colored bands on a peg grid to construct geometric shapes. Items can require specific constructions ("Draw a right triangle") or open-ended exploration.

Responses are automatically scored by pattern matching against expected shapes or by evaluating geometric properties (angles, side lengths, symmetry).
